With a deep history behind Saint Ignatius’ College and a forward-thinking approach to the future, it only makes sense that the rich architecture is met with some of the latest innovations in design and technology, thanks to the teams at Shelmerdines and PMDL.

Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview Campus is a Catholic school in New South Wales providing a holistic Catholic education since 1880. With a deep history behind the college and a forward-thinking approach to the future, it only makes sense that the rich architecture is met with some of the latest innovations in design and technology, thanks to the teams at Shelmerdines and PMDL.

With many halls, classrooms, and living spaces that required the perfect lighting for the students and teachers who board there, finding a customisable lighting solution that could easily adapt to suit any space was essential.

Both the team at Shelmerdines and the team at PDML tailored a suite of mLight luminaires for Saint Ignatius’ College, and the end result is easily described as both beautiful and functional.

mLight’s Kleo LED triumphs over task lighting with versatility and grace. With the power to simultaneously cease the cave effect and provide high levels of comfortable lighting with indirect and glare control features, she beautifully illuminates any space with innovative technology and flawless design. You can tailor the Kleo to suit your needs with custom finishes, mounting options, and ability to integrate maintained emergency and sensor technology.

In the classrooms of Saint Ignatius’, however, lengths of the diffused Kleo has been suspended with blanks to provide optimal illumination for the students working below. In other areas, the Kleo was mitred joined into shapes and suspended over collaborative workstations, enticing those passing by to stop awhile and work together to create something new.

At Saint Ignatius’, flawlessly lit lengths of the Advance IP44 has been recessed to safely illuminate the amenities area. Created from the ground up around LED technology, the compact Advance has been punching well above its weight since its inception as our first LED profile. Although task lighting is its primary goal, this nimble fitting has been used in a wide range of applications, including highly custom shapes.

There’s even a mLight luminaire solution for the outdoor undercover areas. The surface mounted and powder coated white LEDxT, with its hardy IP65 rating, provides additional light for extra-curricular activities around the college.
