At the heart of the GemLife Gold Coast Country Club is a championship-size indoor bowling green, designed as both a sporting facility and a social hub for residents. The space brings together generous proportions, a clean architectural layout, and natural light from adjoining windows to create an inviting, club-like atmosphere. More than just a recreational area, the bowling green is central to community life, encouraging friendly competition, physical activity, and social interaction. Because visibility and comfort were crucial for play, the lighting design required a high performance linear system that could balance uniform illumination with architectural refinement.
To achieve this, mLight supplied the Ligera 80 (L80) linear system, chosen for its precision, versatility, and seamless architectural integration. Installed in surface-mount continuous runs across the ceiling, the system delivers 359 metres in total running length across 26 units, with 1200 lm/m at 4000K CCT.
The result is a crisp, balanced light that ensures clarity of bowls and boundary markings, while maintaining visual comfort for extended play. Mitre joins on each corner created a flawless continuous ribbon of light, enhancing both functionality and the clean architectural aesthetic of the space.
With its uniform distribution and glare control, the L80 system meets the strict performance demands of indoor bowling facilities, while also aligning with the Country Club’s contemporary design language. By combining sport-specific standards with refined detailing, the lighting solution supports both the active and social dimensions of the GemLife lifestyle.
