What is Tunable White?
Tunable White (TW) allows you to adjust the CCT of the luminaire from warm white (2700K) to cool white (6500K). Tunable White luminaires can used to simulate the changes in natural daylight that occur throughout the day.
What is Flux Range?
The flux range you will find on our product data sheets indicates the amount of light (lumens) a luminaire can deliver. Normally specified in lumens per metre (lm/m) . The higher the value, the brighter the resulting lux levels will be in the space.
What are CCT and CRI?
CCT or Correlated Colour Temperature describes how the white light emitted by a luminaire looks and feels. It is measured in Kelvin (K) where 2700K is a warm white, 4000K is natural white and 6500K is a cool white light, similar to natural daylight. CRI or Colour Rendering Index is a measure of the quality of the light emitted from the luminaire. Measured on a scale of 0 to 100, a higher value indicates the ability of the light source to accurately display the true colours of objects under the light.
What are “warm” and “cool” lumens?
Warm lumens refers to white light with an orange hue, with colour temperature (CCT) ranging from 2000K – 3000 K. This CCT creates a warm intimate ambience and is typicaly used in residential environments to create a relaxed and comfortable space. Cool lumens refers to white light with a blue hue, with colour temperature ranging from 4000 K and above. This CCT gives you a cool ambience and is typically used in workplace environments and productive spaces to stimulate the occupants.
What is Luminous Efficacy?
Luminous efficacy is a ratio of the luminaires light output (lumens) to the power consumed (Watts) by the luminaire. Measured in lumens per Watt (lm/W), the higher the value, the more efficient the luminaire.
How can I have consistent lighting colours?
If you want more consistent lighting colours, you can go for luminaires with MacAdam Step 2 boards. Mlight has developed our own PLL Boards that use MacAdam 2-LED chips.

What are your manufacturing Lead Times?

What is the mLight Touch App?
mLight Touch is our innovation to bring life to light beautifully. The mlight Touch ecosystem consists of mlight luminaires with integrated sensors that communicate with wireless switches, bridges and controllers. These devices are configured and commissioned using the mlight Touch App. Feel free to check our mLight Touch page for more info.
I cannot see the mlight controller in my list of WiFi devices?
Confirm you have the controller plugged in, turned on, and allowed the controller to initialise. Please refer to the following guide: Before any site commissioning can be performed, you must have the following:
- The mLight Touch App is installed on your device.
- At least one active controller is available.
- Be within 10 metres of the controller to detect and connect to the WiFi signal.
- All mLight luminaires are turned on.
Perform the following procedure to connect to the controller WiFi:
- Confirm the controller is powered and initialised. The controller will typically take 1 minute to initialise after power is applied.
- Open your device WiFi settings and select the “mLight Touch” device to connect.
- Enter password: mlight123456.
- After a successful connection, you can launch the mLight Touch App to begin commissioning.
The new current value is not applied to all the drivers; hence, a portion of the luminaire is different from the rest.
There are a few reasons why this happen:
- That particular driver/drivers are not connected to the RLC; please check the connections inside the luminaire
- There’s a glitch in communication; try again to change the light output.
- Driver does not have a short address, driver needs to assign a unique short address
Do you have project examples that can be reviewed or where I might see an mLight product?
Yes, we have project spotlights which document and illustrate through photography, many of the completed projects we have supplied. Should wish to visit a project, some are in public spaces, whilst others are private and thus not open to guests. We also have our virtual show room, please ask a product consultant.
